On Tuesday 30 September 2025, I’m walking 12 hours straight (6am–6pm) to raise funds for The Allegr Foundation and our Walk+Talk programme. I’ll link together my four regular community walks—one continuous route across North Bristol.
06:00 - Start: Almondsbury Village Shop
08:00 - Greenway Centre, Southmead
10:00 - Canford Park, Westbury-on-Trym
13:00 - St Andrews Park, Bishopston
15:30 - Return to Canford Park
18:00 - Finish at Canford Park
Come for one leg, two legs—or all of it. All are welcome (and needed!) to walk a little or a lot.
Loneliness is hitting communities hard. Walk+Talk is our simple, free answer: gentle activity + real conversation = better wellbeing. Our participant surveys show:
92% feel happier after a Walk+Talk,
88% report improved social connection and wellbeing,
92% feel more motivated to exercise and meet people.
Your support helps us start new walks, train volunteer leaders, and keep Walk-Talk.uk updated so anyone can find a welcoming group near them.
Join me on the day at any point on the route. Bring a friend!
Please sponsor the effort (link below) or ask for a sponsor form to set your own mini-challenge?

Thank you - I’m looking forward to it… I think!
Thank you so much for any contribution to help this pressing cause, and a nation’s health, through connection.
We are really grateful for all the generous donations and messages of support. All your donations are used to fund our work in the community:
Centred around our ‘Health through Connection’ mantra - we build activity programmes, fostering human connection, to improve wellbeing.
Our flagship programme is Walk+Talk. We run this in the community, and for the military veterans. It’s a simple and effective project, that gets people active, engaged and talking. The walks accommodate absolutely everyone - and with the help of social prescribing, also offer effective signposting support to those who are especially isolated and lonely - intercepting them before potential crisis.
The formula may be simple - but its impact is proving itself very positive and significant.
We are now poised to do more - to scale the Walk+Talk programme and its impact across the UK. And hence, we are now fundraising to specifically support this development.
The money raised goes specifically to fund the running costs for this national roll out - so this programme can be duplicated to reach more towns and cities, more communities and more people.
Thank-you for any donation you are kind enough to offer
