12 x 12 x 12 is a chance to reconnect,
to move and to experience the simple, vital joy,
that human interaction fuels in us all.

12 x 12 x 12 is a chance to reconnect, to move and to experience the simple, vital joy, that human interaction fuels in us all.

What are we doing?

In 2021, Ben will run for 12 hours non-stop, in 12 different locations in each of the 12 months of the year.

We hope that you will join in - for some, or all of this.

As slow or as fast as you want, for as little or as much time as you wish.

Walk, jog, bike*, wheel - just join in - and together we will raise money for charities dealing with the many mental health and loneliness consequences of society having been forced to distance. The main campaign will raise money for The Samaritans, and each of the regional events will also donate to a local mental health charity.

The campaign will raise money for The Samaritans, and each of the regional events will have Local Community Partners.

Ben’s mission might be the headline, but the real story of the Campaign lies with the many individuals across the country who join in - where they walk, jog, run, cycle alongside Ben, for as little or as much time as they wish.

We can take advantage of this pause, this break in the normal, to turn onto a path of reunion, of holism, of restoring lost connections, of the repair of community and the rejoining of the web of life

IT’s DONE… the campaign is over

READ ABOUT IT HERE.

How does it work?

At each of the 12 locations, there will be a marked 5k loop - set up for walking / running / wheels - to be as inclusive as possible.

The course will open at 0700 and close at 1900. Between those times you are free to show up, and go as far, or for as long, as you can. Not because you have to, but because you want to.

We walk, run, move - together; talk together and share in the experience together.

Your distance. Your pace. Just bring yourself, engage your community and join in.

How to get involved:

Participate at the event

Between 07:00 and 19:00 on event day, show up and join in. It’s that simple.

Walk, jog, run, wheel, bike* ... simply move. For as short, or as long, a time as you feel like - around the 5k event loop.

This event is about you. An event where you keep going because you want to, not because you have to.

Join in with your family, friends and colleagues and share in a common purpose**

Participate in the event - remotely

Can’t make it on the day but want to get involved from a distance?

Between 07:00 and 19:00 on the event day, get out there. Walk or run ‘alongside’ Ben and everyone else joining in. You will feel every bit a part of the joy of the day.

Encourage a friend to join you as you, wherever you are, and move together

Don your yellow wig, get out there and enjoy being a part of something; share your story with us as you go.

Participate in a Community Event

Do you want to join in, and support a local Community Partner?

Each event has a number of Official Community Partners - each holding their own event within the day’s format, just fundraising for their own cause.

Same event. Same format. Different fundraising cause.

Same philosophy - join them and join in.

*bike for children accompanying an adult
**within relevant COVID rules

How to fundraise

Whether you are at the event, or participating remotely, EVERYONE can fundraise.

Every pound raised supports the incredible work the Samaritans do - helping people when they are at their most vulnerable.

A message from ben

"I believe that the fabric of our society is under huge strain. For years the importance of interacting and connecting in person has been eroded, COVID_19 has exacerbated this, and bought the issue into sharp focus.

The necessity of human connection has never been more apparent and the mental health fallout, as a consequence of people's enforced isolation and separation, will be significant.

There is hope, however, and we want to focus on this. Compassion is a central pillar of humanity and, together, we can channel and amplify its impact.

So, let’s (safely) come together and reverse the damage. Together we will improve mental health, reduce the loneliness epidemic and fundamentally enhance our lives.

I'd love you to join me, and join in."
